The Beetroot Urad Dosa
The beetroot urad dosas is a healthy delicious dish. It is good for .Since the dosas is prepared with beetroot, it generates blood and facilitates in the smooth flow of blood and circulation. It is a dish that will be liked by all people particularly the kids will crave for it.
The Ingredients needed to prepare the dosa are
½ medium size beetroot
!/2 cup of urad dhal
1 cup of rice flour
2 to 3 pieces of chilly
1 tsp of cumin seeds
A few leaves of Cilantro
Salt to taste
Required amount of oil.
Preparation method
For nearly 3 hours the urad dhal should be soaked.
Then in fresh water, refresh the urad dhal and with sufficient amount of water make it into a paste.
Transfers the urad paste into a mixing bowl and to it add the rice flour and salt.
Blend everything and for 6 to 8 hours keep it covered in a dark place.
Then wash and chop the cilantro leaves finely.
Peel the skin and remove the beetroot ends. Then finely chop the beetroot roughly.
Remove the chili stems, then wash and chop the green chilies roughly
Put the chopped beetroot, green chillies and salt into the grinder and grind it into a paste.
With the grounded beet root mixture mix the fermented dosas batter. And place aside
On a medium high heat the pan
Then pour the dipper that is full of beetroot dosa batter and spread it in circular motion into a thin dosa with the back of the dipper.
With the cumin and cilantro seeds layer the dosa.
Then add oil in few drops to make the dosa deep brown in color.
Then to the other side turn the dosa , for a few seconds fry the dosa another few seconds and then remove the dosa.
For more dosas repeat the same procedure
If you want the batter to stay for some more days you can store it in your refrigerator
The dosa goes with sambhar, coconut chutney or any type of chutney of your option.
