“VISION 2016â€, brings solace and hope to the marginalized sector of the society: Prof. K.A. Sidd
Kuwait, October 21: “VISION 2016” the human welfare project started by JIH has brought solace to thousands of marginalized and down trodden sector of Indian society who were deprived of basic education, health care and basic amenities, said Prof K A Siddique Hasan, Assistant Ameer of Jamat-e-Islami Hind and Gen. Secretary of Delhi based Human Welfare Foundation (HWF), in a media conference held at Swiss bell-HOTEL Plaza in Kuwait City. Indian Muslim Association (IMA) and Kerala Islamic Group (KIG), Kuwait have jointly organized the Conference.
Vision-2016 is not a charity project but on the other hand it focuses on the over all development and self sufficiency of the underprivileged sector and includes more than 200 promising projects which are up and running across the country in the field of Education, Healthcare, Microfinance, basic amenities, Poverty alleviation, Civil rights protection, Model Village etc. ''Vision 2016', is an ambitious plan to bring about transformation on the social landscape of the country. The plan envisages the establishment of multifarious institutions across the country, with a strong human resource of committed volunteers and recognized community leaders. It strives to build trust and relationship with the needy people whose prosperity and security are ever at stake. 'Vision 2016' has an estimated budget of Rs. 5,000 crore, to be pooled from philanthropists and funding agencies. Target beneficiaries are those who are identified as most deprived class in government appointed Sachar Committee Report mostly constituting Indian minorities residing in northern half of the country i.e. from Assam to Gujarat. The Program is divided into different phases, i.e. Phase-1 – till March 2011 and Phase-2 – till March 2015 and so on. The Phase-1 costing Indian Rupees 388 million.
Human Welfare Trust (HWT) is the umbrella organization comprising distinguished community leaders, social workers and intellectuals. The Trust runs many NGOs working under different sectors and is responsible for executing the programs and schemes of Vision 2016. The main areas of work of trust and its affiliate bodies include, education, Adult Education, Health, Microfinance and Insurance, Employment Generation, Legal Assistance and Counseling and overall Human development of socially backward sections of the society.
He said Up to 2016, HWF has planned to establish 1000 Primary Schools, 10 Residential Senior Secondary Schools, 10 B. Ed Colleges, 100 Vocational Training Centers, 10 Special Schools , 1 Lakh Scholarships for needy students, 100 Medical Centers, , 10 Multi Specialty Hospitals, 1 Medical College, 20 Mobile Medical Vans/Ambulances, 500 Micro-credit Societies in northern part of the country.
Public Relation Director of VISION-2016 Rizwan Rafeequi, IMA President Mohammed Aslam and KIG Acting President Faisal Manjeri were present during the occasion. IMA General Secretary Ahmed Ali delivered the welcome address and B.S. Sharafuddin convened the program. KIG Media Coordinator Ashraf Mohammed delivered the vote of thanks.
