Prince Edward Island

The Prince Edward Island is a Canadian Province, comprising of the island of the similar name and other group of islands. In terms of land area and population, the maritime is the least. The island is also called as the “Garden of the Gulf" owing to the lush green agricultural fields and idyllic sceneries.

The verdant green landscape of the island has a strong influence in its culture and economy. The well-known Canadian Novelist Lucy Maud Montgomery got motivation from this island wrote the famous classical novel Anne of Green Gables, set in this famous island. Still the island poses the same qualities found by Montgomery. Many of the tourists enjoy visiting this island. Prince Edward Island provides a wide range of activities such as the beautiful beaches, eco-tourism escapades, different golf courses, touring the countryside, and simply take pleasure in the cultural events conduced in the local communities about the island.

The island also has the Prince Edward National Park

Prince Edward National Park

The National park is located on the northern shores of the island, facing the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The park stretches roughly 90km in length. The park is the home for the endangered Piping Plover, a sand colored shore bird. This bird is similar to the size of a sparrow and is an endangered species. The famous Green Gables farm lies in inside the park. The farm finds a prominent place in the “Anne of Green Gables” written by Lucy Maud Montgomery.
