Banff National Park
Gondola ride
Ride the Gondola with your family members and admire the spectacular view that lies beneath. At a height6850ft (2088m), you can watch the magnificent St.Louis Lake spread beneath, like a sheet of paper. The lake offers a stunning panoramic view of the valley of ten peaks.
Attractions
At the Banff National Park, you can find a variety of 56 mammals that includes Grizzly and black bears. Lynx, Cougar, weasels, wolverine, wolves, northern river otter, etc. Some of the common residents you can frequently meet are the white-tailed deer, mulk deer and the elk.
You can find the ever elusive moose near the banks of the stream and other wet regions.The other inhabitants of the alpine area are the bighorn sheep, mountain goats, marmots and pika.
Some of the other smaller mammals you can admire are porcupines, beavers, chipmunks, squirrels, and Columbian ground squirrels, etc.
Banff National Park is also home to a 280 bird species. Here you can watch the beautiful golden eagles, osprey, red-tailed hawk, and merlin, American three-toed woodpecker, mountain bluebird, gray jay, mountain chickadee, Clark's nutcracker, etc.
The national park is also a well-known destination for winter tourism. You can witness the Banff winter carnival. A big ice palace was constructed by the internees. Some of the other activities you can watch and participate are, ski jumping, snowshoe, skijoring and cross-country skiing and curling, etc.
