Activists of women’s rights call for ban on cosmetic surgery ads.

A leading newspaper says that Feminist group in the Unitedkingdom is joining hand with several plastic surgeons to place pressure on the Government to ban all sorts of advertising on cosmetic surgery. It is strongly believed by the activist group, that such kind of ads will negative repercussions on public health and hence calls for regulations.

A letter published by the group says that at present the public has no option but be exposed to some cosmetic clinic’s belligerent marketing strategies, be it in open places, internet magazines or in TV. These adverts not only have an effect on people, who have considered cosmetic surgery, but the entire society.

Astonishingly, two well-known plastic surgeon and chiefs of BAAPS (British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) have signed the letter. Earlier in January, the association had a similar battle with the government to impose ban on tummy tucks and breast implantation advertisements, as it had excessive under regulation.
