Valencia
The silk exchange market (La Lonja de la Seda) is recognized by the UNESCO as a World heritage site. The renowned City of Arts and Sciences was built by Santiago Calatrava, a well known architect. It houses an Opera house, a science museum, a performing arts center, an IMAX cinema and planetarium.
Palau De La Música (The Music Palace) is a standing example of contemporary architecture.
Likewise the city also boasts of some of the well-known medieval churches such as Saints Johns, an Evangelist and Baptist church that was reconstructed in the year 1368. The dome of the church has some of the most excellent Spanish frescos, El Tempo (‘the Temple’), etc.
The Plaça de la Verge has the Turia fountain and the Basilica of Virgin. It is a prominent spot among the tourists and the locals.
