:
The St. George’s castle is an important tourist destination in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon. The castle is built in such a way, that you can view it from any part of Lisbon. The ancient portions of the citadel dates back to the sixth century, when the Visigoths, the Romans, and ultimately the moors fortified it. The Castle is devoted to the England’s patron saint, St.George honoring the Anglo-Portuguese treaty, which dates back to 1371 and it become a royal palace.
