Urged to visiting MP MR. KODIKUNNIL SURESH, NRI'S voting right from resident countries
Indians urge to visiting member from Indian parliament to pressurize the voting right issue in Indian parliament, Government of India passed the bill in the parliament for giving voting rights to expatriate Indians while they are India during election time.
practically it is experienced that, impossible to be in India to cast their votes during the elections take place since majority of NRI's are in the employment sector and due to the work pressure unable to be away.as per the election commissions notification NRI''s can cast their votes if they are in India, therefore 99% of the Indian population abroad unable to franchise their democratically rights.
therefore demanded to amend the election law and allow to vote from their residing country's Indian embassies through, in order to achieve it Government of india to make necessary arrangements.
this issue and other different community issues were discussed during the meeting with visiting Indian parliament member and ruling congress party's parliamentary party secretary Mr. Kodikunnil suresh and Indian ambassador along with community leaders Rajan Daniel and Jacob M.Channapetta during their meeting in the India House in kuwait.
visiting parliament member further stated that, he will pressurize this issue in the parliament and with concern authorities of government of India.
