TIATR PRESENTATION BY KGA ENJOYED BY ALL
‘Xirlo’, the latest Konkani tiatr (drama) refers to the chameleon that is known to change its colours as the situation arises – a natural phenomenon written and directed by Mario Menezes was presented by Kuwait Goan Association (KGA) under the presidentship of Salvador Dias.
The story revolves around a person who has his family and all the affection around him but his love goes haywires due to his greed and temptation for worldly motives and his selfish and evil longings well enacted by Jessica Gomes, Rosy Alvares, Lawry Travasso, Mathew Araujo and Mario Menezes in the lead with Comedians Ben and Joana providing the hilarious input with Rioma, Tony de Ribandar adding to the presentation. Songs by Lopes Brothers, Cajetan de Sanvordem, MichealD’Silva and Mario de Majorda provided the interlude signature songs during the evening.
Earlier a short presentation and award ceremony was held wherein all the sponsors and chief guest, SME Cargo Managing Director Merces Dias and guest of honourMerwin Franco of Gulf Cable & Electrical Co. also spoke about Goa’s culture and tiatractivites. A token of appreciation was also presented to James Goviea. A lucky raffle draw sponsored by LuluHypermarket was won by Joe Pereira, and an air-ticket Kuwait-Dubai-Kuwait gifted by Al Qattan Travels and a Canon Camera were among the prizes offered.
The opening ceremony was conducted by Gasper Crasto. The entertaining show held at the Al JeelAlJadeed School in Hawalli was attended by a large crowd and was sponsored by Mughal Mahal, UAE Exchange Co., Bhasin Co., Wataniya Telecom, Dana Optics, Kuwait Automotive Imports Co, Almarai, Churchill Brothers, Fitwell Tailor, among others. A commemorative souvenir was released on the occasion of KGA’s sixth anniversary celebrations. A word of thanks was voiced to all the press and internet publications and all members and well-wishers and Konkani enthusiasts.
