The Sun City is a luxury resort and casino located in South Africa’s North West province. From Johannesburg, it is a two hour drive and is located adjacent to the city of Rustenburg The Sun city Resort ahs four gigantic hotels, the wonderful lost city water park called the Valley of waves and 2 golf courses. It borders the malaria free Pilanesberg National park which houses the Big 5- Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhino and Buffalo.

Valley of Waves

The water boasts of five thrilling flume rides

Temple of courage – the swimmers plunge to a hair raising 57 feet (17 meters), downward to a 233 feet (70 meters), chute, race beneath a bridge and splatter into a tiny pool at the bottom of the slide.

The scorpion and the Tarantula are body slides

The Mamba and the Viper are the flume slides where on big inflated tubes, the swimmers float.

There is a gentle ride called The Lazy River which flows continuously about kidney shaped island. The island provides a cultural village with a garments store, a fast food outlet, a sweet shop, and also a pool and a children’s playground.

Several concerts and events are held at Sun City that comprises of the famous beauty pageant contest like the Miss South Africa, Miss South Africa Teen Pageant contests.
