The foreign nationals who are married to a citizen of Japan or to a person who is a permananent resident in Japan are able to acquire a spouse visa, which facilitates them to get involved in any earning activity in Japan. The permission for residence is given for a time period ranging from one year to three year, which can be later extended.

The dependent visa can also be applied by the foreign national’s spouses, who are presently living in Japan under the residence permission status. The permission for residence is given for a time period of ranging from a minimum of three months to a period for three years, which can laetr be extended.

However the dependent are not permitted to indulge in any kind earning activities, except if they have obtained the due permission from the immigration office .Even if the dependent has acquired the required permission, they are allowed to work only for a particular fixed working hours for each week.
