The Alton towers is an amusement park as well as resort that is situated at Startfordshire in England. The parks is attracts nearly 2.7 million visitors annually. It is Europe’s ninth most frequently visited park. The theme park is situated on an estate which previously served as the seat for the Earls of Shrewsbury.

The estate presently houses the amusement park, Splash ladings housel, Alton towers hotels, Spa, extraordinary golf conference center, and Water Park. Some f the major attractions at the Alon Towers that encompasses are Air, Nemesis, Oblivion, Th13teen.and Rita.

Von Roll monorail

The Von Roll monorail transports the visitors from the entrance to the different area of the park. The monorail system was bought from the Expo 86, that was held at Vancouver in British Columbia. The monorail was installed in the year 1986 and was actor William Shatner of Startrek fame inaugurated the monorail system.

The monorail transports the visitors through areas like the splash Landings hotels, Alton towers hotel, Cariba Creek Watermark, extraordinary golf conference center.

Skyride

It is a cable car system that transports the visitors between area such as the foebidden valley, Towers Street and the cloud cuckoo Island.

The park is separated into a number of theme areas and are in the form of a horseshoe.

Towers Street

It is designed on the model of a town street. It leads to a garden and to the towers across the lake. All along the street there are several activities like the Jumping frog fountain and also a lawn where the seasonal activities take place. Several shops and restaurents are located in the Towers Street. Some of the well-known food outlets are the Tower hot dogs, Corner coffee, the Coca Cola refill station, etc.

Mutiny Bay

It is pirate themed area. The “Splash battle” ride is a main attraction at Mutiny bay in which the visitors travel in pirate boats crusing through a water channel, whilst they soak their fellow competetive riders with cannons filled with water and a shaking boat ride. Some of the other attractions are Battle Galleons, Marauder's Mayhem (Teacups ride).

Katanga Canyon

It is themed on the basis of an African village .Sodom of the main attractions are a river rafting ride known as the Congo river rapids, a powered steel roller coaster known as the Runaway mine train.

Forbidden valley

This is area is themed on the basis of terrifying post-apocalyptic topography covered with huge boulders, corroded metal pieces and scattered machineries. More over the waterfall here resembles as if blood is flowing instead of water. An inverted roller coaster called the Nemesis is located in this area.

Some of the other attractions of the area are a steel flying roller coaster called the Air, Ripsaw and the Blade.
