Solo Sorisso maintain a shaky position in Championship Group.
Firefly, Alleygators, Spare Us, Amaya & Al Qwassem move up.
KUWAITCITY, November 25 :
After absorbing their setbacks, the pin crackers of Firefly and the time masters of West End Watches Co. were again back in contention as they rolled passed their respective rivals at the on-going 2011 Indian Bowling League tournament Week 13. Still at the top of their games, league leaders Al Qwassem and Kuwait Federation Bowlers had little difficulty in extending their hot winning streak to three matches while in the other match ups of the week, Whiplash, Spare Us, Amaya & Alleygators emerged victorious over their equally tough opponents. With just another two weeks to set the stage for the finals all teams coming up with their own game plans to conquer the other in their respective groups.
Out to prove that they are worthy of a seat to the Greenie Group, the mission of the scavenger s of the Alleygator Team ripped apart the No Strikes !!! crew. Alleygators headed by Rohan Fernandes, Jason D’Souza, Samantha Fernades & Gloyne Fernandes eked out a 880-763 & 782-777 victory in game one & two. Comfortably ahead after 2 games, the Alleygators closed out the match with a 786-761 win in game three bringing the final pinfall tally to 2448-2301 in their favor. No Strikes !! bannered by Ulysses Menezes, Fatima Sequeira , Anastaius Menezes & Joel Fernandes went home with no points earned. Alleygator went on to win the team high game weekly.
Whiplash another team fighting a seasaw battle for a place in the Championship Group also succeeded in staying in contention by cruising to a walk in the park victory over the much weakend Street Bowlers whose main scorers were away. Chipping in the win points for Whiplash in this all important victory were Aga Cuadrazal, Rico Baluyot, Aldin Avila & Vernie Villaruel. The unstoppable Street Bowlers went on the other hand inched a 790-742 win over Whiplash in Game Two. Street Bowlers led by Amaldo Fernandes, Celine Fernandes, Domnic Picardo & Floyd Suares. Whiplash defeated Street Bowlers in game one and three 772-726 & 776-738 .
Solo Sorisso (Just Smile) outscored Bowling Stones team 792-642 win in game one. Bowling Stones pin busters were Conrad Pinto, Leandro Rodrigues & Leroy Rodrigues had to play without one player leading to their loss. Scoring for Solo Sorisso were Abdullah Behbehani, Mohammed Al-Rashed, Nawaf Al Hassan & Hamoud Al-Rashed who subdued the Bowling Stones 756-623 & 746-617 in Games two and three. With a overall pin fall of 2294-1882 Solo Sorisso turned back home with just a smile on their face.
The time masters of West End Watches Co. leap high when they stopped the Kuwait Bowling Federation team 2337-2295 and snatched the fifth position while the losers however didn’t slide from their number two rank. Top scorers of the victorious team were Ahmad Sultan, Lloyd Fernandes, Rudolph Castelino & Nelson D’Souza while Kuwait Federation Bowler had Andrew Frawley, Paul Delany, Salem Hajras & Ahmad Aloun. The collision of the teams proved good competition. With the time masters of West End Watches Co. walked away with a victory of 854-769 & 774-757 in games one and two. While fighting back in game three the Kuwait Federation Bowlers managed to win with a 769-709 pin fall.
Although already assured of a place in the top 4, Al Qwassem’s intention of staying on top of the standings was made clear by Ali Boulishi, Fahad Abul, Fahad Rughaib & Yacob shatti who turned back the persistent iBowl team in game two and three via a 851-762 & 848-768 score. The lane masters of iBowl manned by Kamran Shaikh, Xavier Mascarenhas, Ramona Soares & Sameera Shaikh produced a stunning 744-708 winning effort in game one which put them ahead in game one. Unfortunately for iBowl, the pinbusters of Al Qwassem were able to win the match by taking a 2407-2274 edge in total pinfalls that was worth a bountiful 30 points.
Back with vengeance, the hard headed Firefly managed to move up by demolishing the Kegler Strikers with a 2378-2249 total pinfall. Taking full advantage of their light assignment, Lee Mills, Nourie Amiri, Nasha King & Abdurahman Swaydeh cruised home with easy 779-751, 820-785 and 779-713 game victories. Manning the lanes for the pin hungry Kegler Strikers were Al Belarmino, Aqeel Al Farisy, Bobby Ferrera, Ed Mendoza & Jane Nance.
The other matches of the week ended in a thrilling finish with Amaya nipping Petrolink 2403-2279 in total pinfalls. Farid Gabriel, Mishari Boushery, Abdullah Khalid & Ali Qallaf handed Petrolink an 788-720 advantage in the opening game that was followed by the 831-769 victory of Amaya in the next game. Amaya then snatched the deciding game three 852-722. Top scorers for Amaya in this match were Rey Ualat, Raine Ualat, Marj Mercado & Blanca Mercado.
Spare Us meanwhile inched closer to the Top when they brushed aside the Pin Pointers 2248-2244. To book this victory, the collective efforts of Anthony King, Bala Subramanyam, Brian Fernandes & Colin Costa helped Spare Us turn back Pin Pointers in game two with a 850-715 win. In game one & three the Pin Pointers led by Alfred Avila, Joe Presenta, Rocky Castil, Rudy Delima & Fe Ferrer tried their best to turn things around but their 741-678 & 788-720 win was not enough to deny Spare Us the victory with just four pins which they deserve.

Weekly High Team Series was taken by Alleygators with a total pin fall of 2448. The Weekly Men’s High game was bowled by Rey Ualat of Amaya with a 257 game. The Weekly Women’s High Game was captured by Marjorie Mercado of Amaya with a score of 261.
