Singapore Botanical Gardens
Some of the attractions you can find n the park are the national orchid garden, Burkill Hall and the VIP Orchid Garden, Lady Yuen-Peng McNeice Bromeliad House, Tan Hoon Siang Misthouse, Coolhouse,etc.
National Orchid Garden
The prime attraction is situated on the western portions of the Singapore Botanical Gardens. This hilly site spread on area of three hectares houses more than thousand types and two thousand crossbreeds of Orchids. You will come across different orchids dedicated to various personalities like Nelson Mandela, etc. There is also a beautiful lake with fish; turales.You can unwind you at the refreshment areas admiring the beauty of the pond. The place is laid out with excellent pavilion, to take a pleasant stroll, a number of cool houses, superb spot for taking photographs.
Tan Hoon Siang Misthouse, Coolhouse
Tan Hoon Siang is a successor of Tan Tock Seng, who is a humanitarian and the initiator for the Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The mist house boasts of having vibrant assortment of various hybrids. It also houses a few collections of perfumed orchards such as Vanda Mimi Plamer.
Jacob Ballas Children's Garden
This kidsgarden is named in remembrance of its major donor & a Jewish Singaporean Philanthropist Jacob Ballas. It is situated in the serene and northern portions of the Botanical garden. The Garden is regareded as Asia’s primary kids’ garden. You can find a several attractions like a tiny playground, water play area, tree houses with maze and slides, etc.
You can find a total of three lakes in the Botanical garden, Symphony Lake, Swan Lake and Eco Lake.
Swan Lake
As the name indicters, you can see number of swans. A pair of mute swans got from Amsterdam is also found here.
Symphony Lake
The symphony lake has an islet constructed at its middle. The island, houses a big stage called as the Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage. You can witness monthly open air concerts rendered by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
Opening hours
The botanical garden is opened daily from 5 am and up to 12pm (midnight)
Admission fees
There is no entrance fee for the botanical garden.
