Respected Professor Muhammed Khan Baaqave, Honable MP Mr. Haroon Rasheed, Guests of Honor, officials and members of the Kuwait Tamil Islamic Committee, good evening (As Salaamu Alaykkum) to all of you.
I would like to thank AKS Abdul Nazar and other executive committee members of K-Tic for inviting me to this Grand Seerathun-Nabi conference. The presence of Moulavi Sahib and other distinguished guests, at this befitting venue, right next to the Grand Mosque of Kuwait, and held on the auspicious occasion of the birthday of Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon Him), are all indicative of the importance and significance of this conference.
Seerathun-Nabi conference is an ideal opportunity for each one of us to imbibe the lessons taught by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and to emulate his righteous behavior in our day to day lives, and in our dealings with one another. Nearly all of us are here in Kuwait to avail of the many opportunities available in this great country and to enrich ourselves and our families. We spend most of our waking hours in pursuit of material wealth and means of acquiring more of it. It is only during rare moments like this evening’s Seerathun-Nabi conference that we get an opportunity to step back from our busy lives and examine the moral and spiritual side of our lives.
More than fourteen centuries ago, on the twelfth day of the third month of the Islamic calendar, with the blessed birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the history of mankind changed forever. When we examine the history of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) what stands out above everything else is his firm and intense belief in the one true God. The Prophet’s moral and spiritual convictions gave him the strength to face and overcome all adversities and has since drawn millions of Muslims around the world to heed his call and follow his footsteps.
I am pleased to know that K-Tic, an organization renowned in Kuwait since 2006, for its charitable and enlightening activities, is continuing to spread its message of compassion through their social and welfare work aimed at benefitting the Indian community in Kuwait and India. Their numerous charitable acts have always shown that K-Tic is an organization that steadfastly follows in the righteous path outlined by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and I wish them all success in the years ahead.
Thank you,
Ashok Kalra
