Schools children appeal to President to protect the jungles
Schools kids placed an appeal to the President of India, Pratibha Patil in a bid to serve the dwindling forest areas of the country on the occasion of children’s day. In the wake of deforestation of the wooded areas in large numbers, the school kids, appealed to the President to join in their struggle to protect the remaining forest areas in the country.
In their initiative as part of the Greenpeace warriors, five school kids belonging to three schools during their meeting with the President held posters displaying the slogan “Save the forests”.
Usha Saxena, the public engagement campaigner for the Greenpeace India said that the resources, the forest offer are very much vital, for the future generation, and it is their duty to safeguard it.
She further added, it is vital for the school kids, to stand for the cause of forest, and animal welfare, and for the betterment of the future generation.
A 9th Class student by name Vaishnavi Nair, studying in the Mother’s International school in New Delhi said she wishes that the President to participate in their crusade, to protect the forest, animals especially the national animal, tiger.
