The Colosseum
The Colosseum also known as the Coliseum is initially a Flavian Amphitheater .It is one of the well-known tourist attractions and serves as Imperial Rome’s iconic symbol. The Colosseum is an elliptical amphitheatre situated in Rome and the biggest ever architectural structure constructed during the Roman kingdom. The Colosseum has a seating capacity to accommodate nearly 50,000 spectators. The place was utilized for staging mock sea battles, executions, famous battles reenactments, animal battles, classical mythology based dramas. This architectural structure is also portrayed in the form of Italian edition of a five cent euro coin.
St.Peter’s Basilica
The Papal Basilica of Saint Peter is officially called as the Basilica Papale di San Pietro in Vatican and generally referred as the St.Peter’s Basilica. One of the twelve apostles of Saint Jesus, St. Peter was buried in this place.
The Basilica houses 100 tombs of well-known persons of which 91 of them are popes. The latest addition is the tomb of Pope John Paul II. In 1546, the Renowned Italian sculptor and designer Michelangelo was the chief architect of the StPeter's Basilica. He designed its dome.
