Muscat: The Muscat Tamil Sangam is a major association among the different Language oriented sangam operating under the Indian Social Organisation. It is a large organization, having members in huge numbers.

In the literary workshop conducted by the Sangam on Jan 20, a seminar was conducted at Muscat’s Oasis Hotel, under the topic, what dominates in Poet Kanadasan’s film Songs, whether it is Philosophy or Love. The cultural and literary secretary of the Sangam, Mr. Basheer Mohammed anchored the program.

The founder& General Secretary of the Chennai Kannadasan Tamil Sangam, as well as Dubai Vaanalai Valar Tamil association’s advisor, Poet Mr. Kaveri Mainthen participated in the function as Judge.
The Symposium was conducted in a more interesting as well as in an action packed manner. Eighteen proficient Speakers selected from the Tamil Sangam participated in the Seminar. Two teams of 9 speakers each were formed, and each debated, on the topic, what dominates in Poet Kanadasan’s film Songs, whether it is Philosophy or Love.

The venue was jam-packed with the families of Sangam members. The elderly members of the Sangam, Mr.S.K.Rao and Mrs. Chitra Narayanan released the books “Kaviarasu Kannadasan songs- Kalathin Pathivugal” and a book on Poet Vaali titled “Vaazhum Thamizhae Vaali”. Both the books were written by Mr.Kaveri Mainthan.

The President of the Tamil Sangam, Mr.Janaki Raman gave the introductory address. The Secretary Mrs. Vijayalakshmi gave the welcome address. The seminar speakers were introduced to the audience by the Sangam’s Vice president Mr.Jameel. The members’ welfare secretary, Mr.Jaya Selvan gave the thanking address.
