Maths not pursued by the Young brains- Prime Minister

The prime minister, in his introductory speech, that marked renowned mathematician Ramanujam’s 125th birthday celebrations, said there was a broad perception, that pursuing Maths will not fetch any prospective career.
Mr. Manmohan Singh affirmed that December 22 will be considered as the mathematics day and the year 2012, as the national mathematics year.
The PM said it is the foremost duty of the mathematics community to look at strategies and solutions to combat the shortage of topnotch mathematicians in the nation. They must come in close contact with the people, as maths has a profound influence on all types of human activities in the present day world.
