Kuwait Federation, Al Qwassem, Solo Sorisso & West End Watches on target for the Championship Group
Kuwait : 21st Oct, 2011. Week Nine very progressive with the time masters of West End Watches Co re-entering the Championship Group. Another six weeks left to settle the scores in all three groups before the finals. Fire Fly, Petrolink & Kegler Strikers battle it out to gain access to the Championship Group. While Spare Us, No Strikes !!, Pin Pointers & Amaya trying to secure a place in the Intermediate group. In the Greenie Group Bowling Stones, Street Bowlers, iBowl, Alleygators settle the score between who rules their group. This Week Mubashar Tv interviewed Andrew Frawley coach to the Kuwait Federation Team.
Meanwhile Fire Fly moved one place up in the team standings by clobbering the neophyte Street Bowlers 2366-2206. After surviving a scare in game one where Street Bowlers put up a strong challenge but lost by a slim 6 pins in Game One which ended with a 724-730. Fire Fly realized the threat and regrouped in the next two games and showed their opponents how things are done via convincing 838-782 and 798-700 victories. Top contributors for Fire Fly in this match were Lee Mills, Nourie Amiri, Nasha King, Abdurahman Swaydeh & Abdullah Faili. The losing side on the other hand was bannered by Amaldo Fernandes, Julian D’Silva, Rakesh Ramanan, Shirley Castellino, Domnic Picardo & Floyd Suares.
Banking on its hard earned win in game one and two, the pin busters from the Kuwait Federation Team subdued the iBowl 739-684 & 775-738. The Kuwait Federation Team who successfully eluded the iBowl Team was lead by Moustafa Mousawi, Ahmed Aloun, Abdul Salam Darwish & Mohammed Yousef. For the iBowl who snatched game three 762-721, leading that last victory were Kamran Shaikh, Xavier Mascarenhas, Ramona Soares & Roy Vaz. The Kuwait Federation Team walked away with a 2279-2184 pinfall victory over iBowl.
The Time Masters of West End Watches came through 2328-2192 victory against the Bowling Stones Team in all three games which moved them back into the Championship Group. Like a newly re-winded time piece that was made possible by Ahmad Sultan, Mousa Abdullah, Rudolph Castelino, Nelson D’Souza, Mudassir Tungekar & Caloy Garay. Heading the losing team was Branden Pinto, Conrad Pinto, Leroy Rodrigues & Cary Pereira.
Petrolink meanwhile inched closer to the Championship Group when they brushed aside the lane masters of Whiplash in all three games with a 2391-2171 victory sending Whiplash from the Championship Group all back into the Intermediate Group. To book this victory for Petrolink were the collective efforts of Farid Gabriel, Mahdi Boushery, Abdullah Khalid & Mohannad Ebrahim.
Other matches where Al Qwassem out powered Alleygators. Al Qwassem gave an opening win as they pinned down the Alleygators with a 764-739 victory in game one. Ali Boulishi, Ayad Amiri, Fahad Abul & Fahad Rughaib helped their team to maintain their position in the championship group. The Alleygators showed their brute force when they brought Al Qwassem to a halt in game two with a 775-748 win. Sensing trouble ahead the Al Qwassem fortified its position and barely managed to land on their feet on Game three with a 766-755. Al Qwassem won the overall by just 9 pins 2278-2269.
Amaya unexpectedly overturned Solo Sorisso (Just Smile) as the leading team stayed confident and above average game in took them to victory with a 2359-2284. Solo Sorisso shelled out some high scoring games but these were not enough as the teams traded games one and two as the third powered managed to get the 800 bonus but not enough to win the game. Amaya enjoyed the overall points which moved them up one position in the Greenie Group. Amaya lane masters were Liza Catapia, Marj Mercado, Blanca Mercado & Lito Mercado. However Solo Sorisso remained on the third slot in the Championship Group.
After a slow start, the Pin Pointers finally found a way to take advantage of their edge in manpower to defeat the tough upcoming No Strikes !!. As both teams started out the match Pin Pointers gained momentum when Alfred Avila bowled a 234 game with the support of his team mates Joe Presenta, Lito Michaels, Rocky Castil, Rudy Delima & Fe Ferrer manged to overtake No Strikes !! in game one and two with a 880-761 & 780-767. In game three the resilient No Strikes !! crew of Anastasius Menezes, Joel Fernandes, Ulysses Menezes & Nadine Dias gave a wakeup call by eking out 819-778 win. However the overall games points were won by the Pin Pointer with a 2438-2347 victory moving them one place up in the Greenie Group.
In the remaining two matches of the week featuring the league’s competition for the Championship Group leaders, Kegler Strikers pushed one place ahead in the Intermediate Group but stayed within striking distance. They brushed aside Spare Us in all three games with a victory of 2459-2149 pinfall victory. Kegler Strikers Led by pin masters Al Belarmino, Bobby Ferrera, Ed Mendoza, Jr Sabado, Jane Nance & Joe White. The exhausted Spare Us Team was headed by Anthony King, Bala Subramanyam, Colin Costa, Valentine Gonsalves & Monali Jeremiah.

Weekly High Team Series was taken by Kegler Strikers with 2459. The Weekly Men’s High game was bowled by Ed Mendoza of Kegler Strikers with a 262 game. The Weekly Women’s High Game was captured by Blanca Mercado with a score of 235.
