Kochi to be the venue for the 1st World Science Congress that starts from Feb 5.

Kochi: Sustainable methods of making use of the ocean reserves devoid of creating any harm to it and their sea life would surface for consideration during the 4 day 2015 World Ocean Science Congress commencing on February 5. Well-known naval exponents, eminent oceanographers, naval exponents, maritime industrialists and environmentalists from across the globe are taking part in this science event that is to be inaugurated by Mr. Sadasivam, Governor of Kerala.

Mohanbhai Kalyanjibhai Kundariya, the union minister of state for Agriculture is also attending the science congress, while Mr.K.Babu, the state fisheries, Ports & Excise Minister presides over the event. The WOSC (World Ocean Science Congress) is together planned by the Vijnana Bharati ,Swadeshi Science Movement, Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS), Kochi and Kerala chapter. The World Science Congress has 4 plenary sessions, exhibitions, round table on ocean & shipping resources , 13 technical sessions, apart from that a meet of national fishermen is also to be organized .

The 2015 WOSC Secretary General, Mr. V.N.Sanjeevan said that about 1000 delegates from the nation and overseas are anticipated to take part in the event. He further said the meet was planned to talk about methods and ways to make use of the ocean reserves to enhance the country’s GDP without creating any disturbances to the sea life & surroundings.

The World Congress is likely to serve as an ideal podium to talk about cultural, scientific, environmental, climatic business features relevant to the Seas.
