Annual Day Celebrations at IES- Senior Wing
17 Feb 2011: Indian Educational School held its third Annual Day with immense enthusiasm parading perfection in planning and array with an aura of extravagant display of creativity and talents in beaded sequence. The Chief Guest Mr. Santana Gopal ,Joint Director, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai , Guest of Honour, Mr Sooraj Ramachandran, and other distinguished guests were tendered a very warm welcome and were ushered to the reserved embellished chairs. The audience comprising the parent community and other well wishers and guests flocked in by 5 in the evening.
The Masters of the Ceremony in elegant attires and pleasing personalities assumed responsibility at sharp 6 0’ clock voicing confidently the commencement of the Annual Day Celebration. The resonance of the School Band marked the order of events followed by recitals from the Holy Quran. The School Choir took over for the Kuwait National Anthem and the Bhavan’s Anthem. The auspicious lighting of the lamp of knowledge by the Chairman, N. Ramachandran Menon accompanied by the Vice Chairperson, Mrs. Indu Bala Khandelwal, the chief guest and guests of honour and Principal Mr. T Premkumar daubed the bright events of the day. The Head Boy, George Vijay Koshy rendered an eloquent welcome to the august gathering.
The dazzling classical dancers bestowed a spectacular performance with the invocation dance that culminated in a fluorescent green formation of an elephant. The gifted Bhavanites sustained the effect with a harmonious blend of diverse resonant vibrations in Symphony. One of the high spots of the day’s events was the dance drama- Colours. The story of colours opened the doors when the beautiful damsels walked the ramp in gorgeous garbs in rainbow hues. The ecstatic dance segments that ensued were obviously a unique blend of melifluous music and wide ranging moods of diverse colours and were undoubtedly spell binding. Truly astounding was the yoga ,Bhavanites performing varied flexible movements to the spiritual resonance of ‘ Om’.
Principal, Mr. T. Premkumar presented the Annual Report and emphasized that IES offers overall development to its inmates moulding them into global citizens. The outstanding students of IES were acclaimed for their merits and credits in various curricular and co- curricular activities in the Prize Distribution ceremony. The stupendous achievements of the IES scholars were acknowledged by awarding them with scholar badges and scholar blazers. A magnanimous number of over 150 Bhavanites lined up for the prize distribution ceremony. This manifested the quality education rendered at IES and bannered the vision of Bhavans. The Chief Guest Mr. Santhana Gopal addressed the gathering.
The dance drama Unity in Diversity was another high spot of the day, a perfect amalgamation of dance and action. The diverse elements from faith, generation gap ,anti racism and celebration to prosperity and poverty were staged with a blend of humour , sobriety and pathos. The Chalisa dance drama and the mime, to specially mention, beckoned praises in plenty. The artiste mélange of Unity in Diversity assembled the diverse actors and performers on the stage moving to the tune of “We wish ……..†The IES environs reverberated with rapturous applauds. The audience responded with a standing ovation widening a deep sense of contentment for the Bhavanites to cherish with pride. IES makes a difference, its own way, everytime. The world renowned dancers who have been recognized in the Guinness book of Records performed the Indian Kuchipudi for the esteemed gathering. The Head Girl,Namini Jennison Reddy ,proposed the vote of thanks.
