A Glimpse of IES Annual Day of Primary section-‘A Day to Remember’
The primary wing of Bhavan’s IES celebrated its Annual Day with such grandeur on 15th February 2011 which commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Mr. Santhanagopal, the school’s sponsor Mr. Bagheli, the members of the management committee, principal, Mr. T.Premkumar and the vice principals. It was an honour to have a special invitee ,the director of Bhavan’s branches at Abhu Dhabi, Bahrain and Oman, Mr.Suraj Ramachandran amidst us. The welcome song was sung by the songsters of the primary section.
The primary section presented the annual day with full participation and fervor. The students looked resplendent in their colourful, bright and rich costumes. The vibrant dancers presented the invocation dance and invoked the blessings of God . The flamboyant students of standard 1 dazzled the audience with their item on 'seasons’. The seasons convey a story to mankind. The children through a skit and scintillating dances brought out the beauty of spring, summer, rainfall and winter adding colour and vibrance to life with nature’s magical, artistic strokes adding luster in all its grandeur. The unfurling of their talent left the audience awestruck.
The harmony of the world was depicted with perfection through a breathtaking song, “Sun Hamse Kya Kehta Hai Maan.†The barrier of languages was broken down with yet another harmonious French song.
The students of Class II transported the audience into a far away blissful mystic world through the story of Cinderella. The clumsy, ugly and jealous step sisters mesmerized the audience with their acting prowess. The well directed and acted play gave the audience a feeling of nostalgia as each character came alive and captured their hearts.
The annual report of the school was presented by the Principal Mr. T.Premkumar. The report celebrated the laurels of the students and ended with a promise to achieve greater heights. He congratulated the students for the progress they have made in the various fields. He informed the parents that IES has implemented CCE in letter and spirit as per the recommendations of CBSE and an orientation programme will be conducted in March 2011.Bhavan’s IES foster academic excellence in a progressive school environment which is safe and caring. The students are encouraged to excel at pursuits outside the classrooms. The school has also been taking up the onerous task of encouraging, empowering the students for personal achievement and who will become self confident leaders of tomorrow.
The Chief Guest Mr. Santhanagopal delivered a key note address expressing his delight to be there for the celebrations. He also appreciated the school’s approach to studies and the standard it has maintained.
Prizes were distributed to the achievers of various fields. The parents cheered the students with a thunderous applause. The school faculty was extremely proud of these achievers. The symphony of wind and percussion instruments was another display of precision by the school’s talented students. The Arabic dance staged by the energetic girls was followed by a soulful song by the school’s own nightingale Neha Deepak.
The ballet ‘Born to Live’ was a fitting finale to the cultural fiesta. This ballet a grand show put up by the students of class 3 and class 4 was a special dedication to the underprivileged, abandoned children of the world. The actors and dancers portrayed the gripping reality of how the selfish, unscrupulous hands of man has left millions of children lead a life of indignation.The show ended on a positive note where the students took a vow to play their part in helping the needy and changing the world.
The children were given a standing ovation by the audience for their performances. The chief guests and other dignitaries eulogized profusely for the mind blowing performance of the children.
The Annual Day ended with the vote of thanks and the curtain was drawn after the rendition of Indian National Anthem by the students with a patriotic fervor.
