Indian Central School Holds Winter Carnival



The much awaited Winter Carnival, hosted by ICS, Kuwait, finally unfolded on the 1st of December,2011. Held every year with great enthusiasm, fun and frolic, it is eagerly looked forward to by all. The day was indeed a fun filled one with mouthful of eats, games, exciting prizes and above all a gala time with friends and dear ones. Students from Indian Public School, Kuwait and a few other schools visited the fete as it was open to all.

The carnival was inaugurated by the Chairman, Mr. Thomas Chandy. He was all praise for the marvelous efforts put in by the staff and students of ICS.

Games stalls of classes IV to IX included Lucky Corner, Ringing the Bottle, “Jal Tarang”, Breaking the Pyramid, Lucky draw, Spot the alphabets in order, Car Race and many more.

A very special segment catering to the interest of the kids were put up by “KIDSLAND”. As compared to the previous years, this year, Kidsland introduced new and exciting variety of water games which pulled the maximum crowd. Kids could be seen pestering their parents and hovering around the play area throughout the day. Henna and face painting added glamour to the fiesta.

The Baby Show and fashion parade of Classes I & II was indeed enthralling. The costumes of fairies, princesses, typical Indian attires and the like were showcased. The Baby Show of kindergarten was the limelight of the fete. All eyes were glued to the stage as cute and bubbly babies made their appearance.

To top it all was an array of mouthwatering eateries beckoning the crowd. “ICS Dhaba” needs special mention as it was entirely managed by the senior students. The zest and zeal, by which they prepared and served, revealed their culinary expertise.

The carnival concluded with the Raffle Draw and the release of the school magazine “Quintessence”.

The Principal, Mrs. Shanta Maria James, spoke in high esteem of the endeavors of the staff and students of ICS in making this winter carnival a distinguished one.
