IMA ORGANISES PUBLIC PROGRAM ON THE EVE OF NEW HIJRA YEAR

Kuwait (Nov, 24' 2011): Indian Muslim Association (IMA) in cooperation with Ministry of Awqaf & Islamic Affairs organized a public lecture on the eve of New Hijra Year at Masjid Yousuf Al-Adsani, Kuwait City.
In his opening remarks, IMA President Mohammad Aslam said that the essence and significance of Hijra will have a far reaching impact till the end of the world. He added that we should undertake Hijra at every stage of life such as from wrongdoings to good deeds.
While elaborating on the subject of ‘Lessons from the magnificent event of Hijra' Nisar Ahmad said that the objective of Hijra was to establish a society based on Islamic principles. He further stated, “The entire event of migration of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) gives innumerable lessons to the Muslim community. Migration was a humble beginning to accomplish a great task of formation of a new society based on justice and peace. Migration also gives us the message that continued efforts and sacrifices are necessary to attain success and to accomplish any mission.”
He said Islamic revolution brought by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is testified as great revolution in history. Migration of prophet was stepping stone to this very aspect of change.
He further added that, “the Hijra opened the door for continued success and revolutionized every aspect of the life of Muslim Ummah. He mentioned series of success attained after migration of Prophet Muhammad to Madinah, which includes strengthening of faith, economic stability, social wellbeing, religious training and establishments of Islamic principles in every aspect of life; in short it was a paradigm shift for the Muslims in comparison to their earlier lifestyle.”
Maulana Hafizur Rahman from IES (Islamic Education Society – Kuwait) who presided over the function said that the Hijra constitutes a wonderful memory. He elaborated, “it is only the wise that recognize its full magnanimity: as a victory for the believers and their escape from a life of injustice and subjugation to a free and respectable one. It marked a new phase in the struggle between Islam and disbelief, and between truth and falsehood, hence only fit to signify the start of the Muslim calendar.”
He further added, “As is well known, the Prophet (pbuh) migrated from Makkah to Madina, a move which had a far-reaching effect upon Islamic history, for it gave Muslims the opportunity to establish an important center in Madina for Islam. There, the work of Da’wah entered a new and better phase, and whereas Makkah had been the arena for its early struggles, Madina now became a great field of victory for Islam.”
The programme started with the recitation of the Holy Quran with its Urdu translation by Munawwar Hussain. The programme was convened by Shamvil Parwez. Hundreds of men and women attended the programme. Dinner kits were distributed at the end of the programme.
