Federation of Indian Muslim Associations (FIMA)

Federation of Indian Muslim Associations (FIMA) was established on March 13th, 1996. It was IMWA (Indian Muslim Welfare Association) that organized at the IPC Mosque, the Educational & Socio Economic Development Seminar with delegates from the all Indian Muslim associations functioning in Kuwait on Dec, 1995.

The Seminar was organized with an apparent declaration to create harmonization amid every association. It was initially named as the Coordination council which was later renamed as the Federation of Indian Muslim Associations. In 1996-97 a written constitution was implemented. The constitution describes the Federation’s apparent goals.

Some of its objectives


To establish liaison (cooperation) with the Embassy of India as well as the Government of India for carrying out the social welfare & educational programs for the society’s advantage and to provide support in different activities of public interest.

To improve collaboration & harmonization amid all the organization and to avert replication of activities

To strive for the society’s betterment and to bring the authorities’ consideration in a combined manner, reinforce the national uprightness and encourage communal harmony.

To carry out the efficient programs in the economic, social, education and cultural aspects for the development of Muslims and also the other Indian societies present in Kuwait.

To inspire the teachings of Islam so as to establish an appropriate society to promote the fraternity’s feelings & brotherhood amid all individuals.
