Federation Bowlers & West End Watches Co. continue to set pace.
Indian Bowling League – Kuwait Week Five - Federation & West End Watches Co. maintain their position in the Championship Group top 4 while Al Qwassem & Fire Fly race into the top 4. Interviewing Aqeel Al Farisy from Kegler Strikers by Mubashar Live Tv the rest of the bowlers took their positions on the lanes while camera’s kept rolling.
The Tournament consists of Sixteen teams divided into three groups who will then play a round robin game against all teams with points gained. The Championship Group that holds the top 4, the intermediate group that hold position 5 to 9 and the Greenie Group from 10 to 16. In all matches points are on offer for the team totals in each match. With a varying capability of bowlers partaking a handicapping system is in effect to level off the event. All sixteen teams enter the finals within their respective groups in order to retain the title within their group going head on with teams their own strength.
Out to prove that they are worthy of a seat to the championship group, Al-Qwassem bowlers derailed Bowling Stones for awhile headed by Fahad Abul, Fadel Qwassem, Ayad Amiri, Fahad Rughaib, Ali Boulishi & Yacob Shatti shattered the confidence of the new arrivals to the bowling sport Bowling Stones in Game 1 and Game 2. Al Qwassem were shocked to see a surprisingly strong recovery from Bowling Stones who managed to outwit Al Qwassem 905-828 in Game 3. But the victory lay in the hands of the advanced bowlers of Al Qwassem who stood at 2530-2333. Bowling Stones troopers were Branden Pinto, Conrad Pinto, Leandro Rodrigues, Leroy Rodrigues, Raoul Pinto & Cary Pereira.
With a deep and well seasoned lineup, Kegler Strikers took over the driver’s seat right at the start of game one and easily outbowled Amaya with a 793-714. Amaya lead by Rey Ualat, Rod Llait, Liza Catapia, Raine Ualat, Marj Mercado, Blanca Mercado & Lito Mercado unleashed equally superb perrformances in all three games. However, the seasoned Kegler Strikers wasted no time in taking the lead with their own 769-732 victory in game two and then went on to win the match by compiling another convincing 857-753 victory in game three with a total pin fall of 2419-2199. Responsible for Kegler Striker’s meteoric rise in the intermediate group to were Al Belarmino, Aqeel Al Farisy, Bobby Ferrera, Ed Mendoza, Jr Sabado, Jane Nance & Rommel Gencina.
Aware that a losing stint will surely jeopardize their chances of advancing to the intermediate group, Pin Pointers crew of Alfred Avila, Joe Presenta, Lito Michael, Rocky Castil & Rudy Delima unleashed equally superb perrformances in two of their three games against Ibowl where they prevailed 2356-2071. Heading the Ibowl team were Xavier Mascarenhas, Ramona Soares, Cleona D’Souza, Sameer Shaikh & Roy Vaz.
Solo Sorriso (Just Smile) another team fighting a seesaw battle for a place in the Championship group hit the doldrums with one player missing allowing Alleygators succeed in staying in contention by cruising to a 2177-2066 a walk in the park victory over the badly depleted Solo Sorriso (Just Smile). Chipping in the win points for Alleygator in this all important victory were Jason D’Souza, Rohan Fernandes, Samantha Fernandes & Gloyne Fernandes.
The amazing Street Bowlers on the other hand inched closer to the intermediate group as they hummed deadlock. their way to a 2236-2226 drubbing of Spare Us. Led by Amaldo Fernandes, Julian D’Silva, Shirley Castellino, Celine Fernandes & Domnic Picardo, the Street Bowlers defeated Spare Us.
The Time Masters of West End Watches Co. opening game of its match against Petro Link, were like hungry lions ready to devour its prey. With the foursome of Ahmad Sultan, Lloyd Fernandes, Mousa Abdullah & Mudassir Tungekar all bowling above their respective averages, West End Watches Co. prevailed in game one 788-681. With a sudden rush of fuel from the depths of the earth Petro Link froze the time masters due to change of gravity and Petro Link sailed through in Game two and three 880-803 & 906-818 winning the game 2467-2409. Petro Link was pumped in by Farid Gabriel, Mishari Fadley, Abdullah Khalid, Mohammed Ashour, Abdul Aziz Aslawi & Mohannad Ebrahim.
To erase any remaining doubt about the authenticity of their fifth week performance, a tenacious Fedration Bowlers came back in sizzling form after defeating Whiplash in their fifth week encounter. Maintaining their devastating form in all three games with Andrew Frawley, Moustafa Mousawi, Salem Hajras & Basil Anaizi whipped their way to Victory 2483-2321 with an excellent performance of skill and experience Whiplash were no match for the professionals. The crew of Whiplash was lead by Aga Cuadrazal, Rico Baluyot, Aldin Avila & Vernie Villaruel.
Nourie Amiri checking in for Fire Fly made a clean sweep of the 3-game series match against No Strikes !! 2504-2248. Fire Fly turned the lights off for No Strikes !!! and managed to fly luminated to the Championship Group at position four. Fire Fly was manned by Lee Mills, Nourie Amiri, Nasha King & Jassim Darwish. No Strikes !!! bannered by Max Gomes, Anastasius Menezes, Joel Fernandes, Fatima Sequeira & Ulysses Menezes went home thinking of better game plan for next week.

Street Bowlers – 75, 11.Bowling Stones – 60, 12. No Strikes !! – 50, 13. Alleygatorz – 45, 14. Amaya – 35, 15. Pin Pointers – 30, 16. I Bowl – 20.
Weekly High Team Series was taken by Al Qwassem with 2530. The Weekly Men’s High game was taken by Nourie Amiri of Fire Fly with a 290 game. The Weekly Women’s High Game was pinned by Nasha King with a score of 225. This Weekly Prizes were sponsored by Amman Bhel Puri Restaurant Salmiya established in 1971.
The matches of the Indian Bowling League are held every Friday at the Salmiya Cozmo Bowling Center at 1.30pm
