Education in the United Kingdom

The Education in the United Kingdom is a delegated matter. Each country in the United Kingdom has a separate education system under the separate government. The Government of UK is answerable for the England, Scottish and the Welsh government.

Education in England

The Department of Education and the department of Business, Innovation and skills, look after the education in England. The responsibility of executing the public education policy and the state schools at the regional level is taken by the Local authorities (LA).

For kids between the age of 5 and 16, the education is compulsory. Students can also pursue the education for another two years (sixth form) and foremost to A level qualification, even though other requirement and courses prevail, comprising qualifications for Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC), the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the Cambridge Pre-U. The Education and Skills Act 2008 increased the compulsory education’s leaving age to 18. The amendment will come on to force on 2013 for the 16 year old ones and 2015 of the 17 year old ones.

The students have the State provided schooling and sixth form education free of charge. The tradition of independent shooing also prevails in England. But the parents may also choose any appropriate means to educate the kids.

Normally, a higher education commences with a three yard bachelor degree. The post graduate degree comprises of master degree which is taught or by research or doctorate which takes nearly three degrees. The universities need a Royal chapter in order to give degrees.

Primary and secondary education

The school year commences on the first of September (or first of August, if a term commences in August). Education is Mandatory for all kids from the first birthday to the last Friday in the month of June of the academic year, in which they turn the age of 16. This will be augmented in which they will turn the age of 17, and in 2015, in which they will turn the age of 18.

In England all the maintained schools should adopt the National curriculum, which is prepared with 12 subjects. The main subjects, English, maths and science are mandatory for all students in the age group between 5 to 16.Likwse some of the foundation subjects are mandatory for one or more main stages.

Normally from the age o 18, the students enter into the university, and they study of the academic degree. In the past, all the undegraduate education exterior of the University of Birmingham was mainly state financed with a tiny donation from top up fees.
