Department of Information Technology (DIT) to spread IT education in the border areas
The Union Minister of state for Information and Technology, Mr. Sachin Pilot told the Rajya sabha that National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, an self-governing body under the DIT (Department of Information Technology) has established training centers in border area such as Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya and Sikkim to expand the IT education.
The Department of Information & Technology along with other ministries like the ministry of Labor and employment, ministry of tribal affairs has launched a number of sachems and projects to motivate and facilitate the tribal youths to learn the IT education.
Mr. Sachin Pilot further added CSC (Common service centers) has been established under the national e-governance agenda. Six CSC centers are located in Tawang in the state of Arunachel Pradesh and Nin center are opened in Leh in Jammu & Kashmir state.
