Buntara Sangha celebrated Ugadi Parba on 13th April 2012 at Fintas Wedding Hall. The event started with invocation of Lord Ganesh along with Arati and bhajans by the members. The President Mr. Satishchandra Shetty welcomed the gathered members and briefed on the day’s proceedings. The present managing committee members presented mementos to all the previous managing committee members as a token of appreciation. Buntara Sangha Members directory, which was an initiative taken by the previous committee was released by Mr. Pancily Varkey (Country Head of UAE Exchange Centre, Kuwait). A hilarious tulu skit by fellow members kept the audience spellbound. Bunts Culture was the central theme for the fancy dress and elocution competitions for kids of different age groups. Various Entertaining programs, including ‘What’s the Tulu Word?” an interesting Quiz-word game compared by Mr. Manoj Shetty with plenty of spot prizes kept all the members in high spirits.

Breakfast and a traditional sumptuous Ugadi lunch served on plantain leaves were catered by Avanti Palace Restaurant. Member’s creativity was brought forward in the Hidden Talent event in the form of writing and drawings. The highlight of the program was the Adarsh Dampathi Competition where the winners went home with fabulous prizes.

The Program was well coordinated by the Mc’s Mrs. Shalini V. Shetty and Mrs. Neetu S. Shetty. The program ended with a vote of thanks by the Vice President Mr. Somshekar Rai and singing of the National Anthem.
