An enclosed super regional shopping mall is the Wood field mall, which is situated in the Schaumburg’s northeast Chicago suburb in the state of Illinois. It is located at the crossroads of Illinois Route 53.and Golf Road.
The Wood field Mall was opened on September 9 in the year of 1971 with 59 stores. Over the year the mall has developed steadily with 189 stores. The mall has a retail space of 1.9 million square feet. In the year 1973, the mall had the credit of being the biggest mall in the United States.

At present it is the biggest mall in the area of Chicago with a total of over of 285 stores and restaurants. The wood field mall forms a division of a collection of three malls situated in the Schaumburg, IL all along with Streets of Wood field and Wood field Village Green. In fact the mall is a favorite tourist spot among the travelers from different countries.

A total of 7 anchors are present in the mall. They are JCPenney (300,000 sq ft (30,000 m2)), Macy's (315,500 sq ft (29,310 m2)), Lord & Taylor (124,000 sq ft (11,500 m2)), Sears (416,000 sq ft (38,600 m2)), and Nordstrom (215,000 sq ft (20,000 m2).
