Woman beats man to death for harassing her
Bhopal, June 20 (IANS) A 22-year-old woman beat to death a man who had been harassing her in Madhya Pradesh's Betul district, police said Monday.
Renuka Bai, a resident of Chawal, had lodged a complaint of harassment against Bhojraj Sahu of Jasbar village, situated five km from her village.
Police had registered a case against Bhojraj under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and arrested him. He was released a few days ago.
"Today (Monday), Bhojraj reached Renuka’s village and starting quarrelling with her. Renuka then attacked Bhojraj with stones and a piece of wood. He sustained injuries in his genital areas which led to his death in hospital later," local police official Abid Ali Aamir told IANS.
"A case under section 302 of IPC (murder) has been registered against Renuka, and she is in police custody," he added.
Betul is around 170 km away from Bhopal.
