UAE charities seek to expedite Somalia relief efforts
Abu Dhabi, July 24 (IANS/WAM) The charities in the UAE Sunday discussed plans to jointly coordinate and expedite the relief efforts in famine-hit Somalia.
The meeting was held at the Red Crescent Authority's main office here to find ways to speed up the relief work.
They agreed to enhance cooperation to provide best humanitarian services, mainly to provide food, medical and water supplies to those affected by the drought and famine.
A UAE aid team was expected to arrive in Mogadishu within two days to lead the humanitarian operations.
