Three held for impersonating in exams
New Delhi, June 15 (IANS) Three people, including two engineers, have been arrested for impersonating in various entrance examinations here, police said Wednesday. The three students who hired them for Rs.20,000 each to appear on their behalf in the examination have been held as well.
Sonu Kumar, Kaushal Kumar and Sulabh Raj were arrested from Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya at Bharat Nagar in north Delhi June 12, Deputy Commissioner of Police Meenu Choudhary said.
Police said that the trio hailed from Bihar, and two of them were engineers, while one was an engineering aspirant.
"They were appearing in the Common Entrance Test conducted by Delhi government for admission in Polytechnic Institutes," said Choudhary.
Police said the three were arrested after the invigilator got suspicious when their faces did not match the photos on the admit cards.
During interrogation, they told the police that they were hired to appear in the exam for Rs.20,000 each.
"We then conducted raids in different parts of the city and arrested the three original applicants -- Rahul Chauhan, Sartaj and Harender -- June 13," she said.
