The Taman Negara National park in Malaysia

The Taman Negara National park was formerly called as the King George V National park nearly more than seven decades back in the year 1938/1939. Later the park was renamed to the present name Taman Negara. In Malay language, Taman Negara means National park. It is the world’s most ancient tropical rainforest. And spread on an area of 4,343 sq.kmSome of the salient features of the park are, Taman Negara boasts for having the world’s longest canopy walkway, the park has a rich species of both flora and fauna like the Malaysian tier, the Sumatran rhinoceros, the crab eating macaque Red jungle fowl, the Asian elephant and the Malayan Gaur (seladang) a rare type bird species called the Malayan Peacock Pheasant is seen in this national park but only in few numbers.
All the visitors get the due permission from the Department of Wildlife and National parks to visit the park. There are a number of hotels present near the park. For a fan room with attached bathroom you can get room in the budget of 50 ringit to 75 ringit. A/c rooms are costly and the rates differ on the type of luxurious furnishings.
