Stephen Hicks, a neuroscientist from the University of Oxford presented to the mankind with his first pair of bionic glasses. The glass will help the blind people (the visually challenged) to lead the life without much fear. Minute cameras, and software technologies derived for video games are present in this unique pair of glasses

Mr. Hicks, basically a scientist from Australia said the user of these glasses can know the objects around them by means of alerts which he would get from flashing lights.

The neuroscientist presented his innovative glass at the summer exhibition of the Royal society in London. Mr. Hicks said the glasses gained an advantage over the retinal implant or bionic eye, since the glasses were non-invasive and pocket friendly. He further added they are fundamentally iPhones and a pair of glasses.

The glasses will be of immense help especially to the old people who have trouble in viewing the objects clearly and have the color bleeding problems into the vision.

On the glasses rim, the video camera will capture the objects information such as their dimensions and also the distance at which they are kept. The information received will be conveyed by means of a wire to the computer processor that is present in the wearer’s pocket. The computer processor will interpret the information in the form of dots. The tiny lens integrated inside the lens would glow up in the form of object’s shape. The brighter the glow, nearer is the object.
