Dubai: The 36th annual celebration of the Dubai Iman Sangam as well as the 40th National day of the Emirate was celebrated in a grand manner with lots of activities on 02-12-11.

The president of the Iman Sangam Al HajSyed.M.Salaludhin presided over the function. The manager of the Iman office Dindugal Jamal Mohideen recited the scriptures from the holy quran.Thaerizhandhur Tajuddhin sang the Islamic anthem. The function also witnessed the children parade and also the delivering of the national anthem of the Emirate.

The General Secretary Kuthalam A. Liaquat Ali delivered the welcome address.

Al HajSyed.M.Salaludhin in his presidential address said it has been denoted as the 36th annual celebration of the Iman, but the age is only applicable for the sangam and not for the Iman, as none can predict the age of Iman. Right from the origin of the Universe, the first Iman exists. He requested that everyone should actively participate in the social activities of the Iman sangam.

He recalled that right from when the park was initially started, he used to come with his family often and during the course of one trip, they were attracted by the sweet aroma and flavor of Kabab roasted by a Sudanese family who happened to be near them.

The President of the Iman Sangam further added they exchanged their food with the Sudanese family in return for their Kabab.

The Member of Parliament representing the Vellore constituency M. Abdul Rahman participated as the special guest. In his address the MP appreciated all the participants, who actively participated in the National day of the Emirate. Moreover Mr. Rahman further added that he is taking efforts to implement the reservation policy for the Muslim communities and also of the construction of Mosques in airports, and for this he said he has been in talks with the concerned ministers. He hoped he will succeed in his efforts. The MP further added that he feels immensely proud to be the Vice President of the Iman. He request that everyone should actively participate in the functional activities of the Iman.

He gave away the prizes to the winners, who won in the sports competition, as well to winners drawn from the lucky draw.

V.Kalathur Mahasr Ali won the free Chennai-Dubai-Chennai flight ticket sponsored by Jet Airways.Mr.Pattusamy won the 32” LCD TV spooned by ETA Ascon company.

The Member of Parliament, Mr. Abdul Rahman gave away memento to the correspondent of the Chennai Dhanish Ahmed Engineering College, Mr. Khadersha.

Nearly 2000 people from Tamil Nadu participated in this function.

The organizing committee under the chairmanship of General Secretary Kuthalam A. Liaquat Ali and Joint Secretary Thirupanandhal S.Moahamed Dhaha effectively made arrangements for the function.
