New Delhi, Aug 4 (IANS) Congress president Sonia Gandhi has undergone surgery in the US and will be away from India for two to three weeks, party spokesperson Janardhan Dwivedi said here Thursday.


The surgery has been successful,and Gandhi'c condition is stable Dwivedi said.

A four-member team - Sonia Gandhi's son Rahul Gandhi, Defence Minister A.K. Antony, political secretary Ahmed Patel and Dwivedi himself - will oversee the party affairs in her absence, he added.
