Shaastrotsav– Festival of Science
You all are invited to be part of premier science & technology extravaganza.
Shaastrotsav– Festival of Science will be held on Friday 6th May, 2011 in the campus of Gulf University for Science & Technology (GUST) Mishref, near Kuwait International Fair Grounds.
Shaastrotsav, which is a highly popular science and technology event in Kuwait, is organized by Kuwait chapter of NSS College of Engineering Alumni, in association with Gulf University for Science & Technology (GUST).
15 schools and many technical and professional organizations will be participating in the day long events of Shaastrotsav. There will be science and technology exhibition, computer animation contest, multimedia shows, film shows on science & technology and medical & technical seminars.
Kuwait Oil Company will be participating in the exhibition displaying various modern equipments including Rollover Simulator, Seatbelt Convincer etc. useful for people from all walks of life.
Shaastrotsav is designed to promote, encourage, showcase and reward the achievements of students in various fields of science and mathematics. As a part of this commitment Shaastrotsav will be presenting two child prodigies who will demonstrate their amazing skills in mathematics and chemistry in front of audience.
A panel of 4 doctors from Indian Doctors Forumwill be conducting a seminar on ‘Cancer – Everything You Want To Know‘. These cancer specialists will interact with the audience and answer all questions.
American Society of Safety Engineers will make a presentation on Occupational Health, Safety and Environment. HSE specialist will be available to answer questions on the topic.
Technophilia - Robotic specialists from India will conduct a robotic demonstration during the evening function of Shaastrotsav. Technophilia is well known to robotic enthusiasts and they conduct robotic workshops in IITs, NITs and other famous engineering institutes. Technophilia will be demonstrating various robots, Haptic Robotic Arm, I-Touch Arm and many more interesting robotic technologies.
The famous movie ‘First Orbit’ which was released worldwide on 12th April 2011 to commemorate 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s first space mission will be shown on big screen for the first time in Kuwait. The film was watched by 2.3 million people worldwide within 48 hours of its release. Watching First Orbit in big screen will be a treat and rare opportunity offered by Shaastrotsav.
Science enthusiasts in Kuwait consider Shaastrotsav– Festival of Science as a premier science event for students, teachers and general public.
