New Delhi, May 9 (IANS) The Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) said it was "happy" about Monday's Supreme Court verdict that stayed the September 2010 Allahabad High Court judgment dividing the site of the razed Babri Mosque in Ayodhya into three parts.

 
 "We are happy that the plea of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement against the trifurcation of the Ayodhya site has been upheld by the apex court", RSS spokesperson Ram Madhav told reporters here.
 
 He said that the Supreme Court order directing maintenance of "status quo at the Ayodhya site" was also in accordance with the pleas of the Ram temple movement.
 
 "It is significant that Hindus will be able to continue their prayers and 'puja' at the Ayodhya site," Madhav pointed out.
 
 "Above all, the Supreme Court will begin the hearing of the Ayodhya case within a couple of months," he said.
 
 "We hope that all legal impediments to the construction of the Ram temple will be removed soon," Madhav added.
 
 The Supreme Court stayed the September 2010 Allahabad High Court verdict that had divided the site of the Babri Masjid amongst the Sunni Waqf Board, the Nirmohi Akhada and a Hindu party, Ram Lalla.
 
 "By directing the partition of the disputed site, the high court has given an entirely new dimension to the case," the apex court said.
 
 "It is a rare judgement whose operation has to be stayed," it added.
