Rs.4 lakh compensation for blast victims announced
New Delhi, Sep 7 (IANS) The Delhi government will give compensation of Rs.4 lakh to the families of each of those killed in the blast outside Delhi High Court Wednesday morning, an official said.
"The families of those killed in the blast will be getting Rs.4 lakh as compensation and if the victim is a minor Rs.1.5 lakh will be given," a Delhi government official told IANS.
Those permanently incapacitated in the blast will be given Rs.2 lakh, those seriously injured will get Rs.1 lakh and those who have sustained minor injuries will get Rs.10,000, the official said.
Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who visited the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital where some of those critically injured in the incident are undergoing treatment, said: "Doctors are closely monitoring the patients and will continue to do whatever is necessary. The injured in the blast will be getting free treatment."
Soon after visiting the critically injured in the RML Hospital, Dikshit also visited the blast spot.
Apart from RML hospital, some of the victims were taken to Safdarjung Hospital and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Trauma Centre.
