Relations with DMK good: Azad
New Delhi, June 6 (IANS) Even as former Tamil Nadu chief minister M. Karunanidhi blames New Delhi for his daughter Kanimozhi's arrest, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said relations with the DMK were good.
“Relations between the DMK and Congress are good. We have stood by each other through thick and thin,” Azad told reporters here.
“One can imagine the agony a father can have at this time, so he is upset. But the government could not have done anything in this, we have no role,” he said.
On Sunday, Karunanidhi said that Kanimozhi was in jail owing to "some central government's intelligence agency or due to the carelessness of some officials or due to some other reason".
He added: "As the matter is in court, I do not want to go deeper into it."
Azad insisted that Karunanidhi understood the Congress side of story. “I have talked to Karunanidhi. He is with us and we are with him.”
