Ramdev can continue protest in Uttarakhand: chief minister
Dehradun, June 5 (IANS) Assuring his government's support to Baba Ramdev, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Sunday said the yoga guru has "full freedom" to continue his protests in the state after being forcibly flown out of Delhi.
"If he (Ramdev) wants to continue his agitation and protest in Uttarakhand, he has full freedom to do it," Pokhriyal, who heads a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state, told reporters here.
Ramdev, who was evicted by police from Delhi marking an abrupt end to his mass hunger strike against corruption and black money abroad, was being taken to his ashram in Hardwar, Uttarakhand.
The chief minister said the guru's agitation in Delhi was "peaceful" and should have been allowed to continue.
"What was wrong with Baba's peaceful agitation? Why did the government get scared? If the Baba comes to Uttarakhand, we will give him full security," Pokhriyal said.
