Punish all 2G scam culprits, demands CPI-M
Kolkata, April 15 (IANS) While skirting comment on the corruption charges raised against union Agricultural minister Sharad Pawar, Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader Sitaram Yechury Friday said all involved in the 2G scam should be punished.
"He (Pawar) has denied the allegation so what can we say now as the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) probe is going on. Let the investigation finish. But as we have said earlier that whoever the person might be involved in the scam and whichever post he or she might hold, action should be taken against him or her," Yechury, a member of the party politburo, told reporters.
Corporate lobbyist Niira Radia's claim that Agriculture Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar may have a financial interest in DB Realty was dismissed by the NCP boss as an "absolute lie".
Radia, in her statement to the CBI, claimed that Pawar may be controlling the controversial company and may have pursued the issue of 2G spectrum and licence for Swan Telecom with former communications minister A. Raja.
