Amritsar, Aug 14 (IANS) Troopers of the Pakistan Rangers offered sweets to their Indian Border Security Force (BSF) counterparts at the Attari-Wagah joint checkpost Sunday to mark the 65th anniversary of the creation of the neighbouring country.


Officers and personnel of Pakistan Rangers walked up to the zero line along the Radcliffe Line international border and offered sweets.

BSF officers and troopers accepted the sweets and greeted their Pakistani counterparts on the occasion.

The Attari-Wagah joint checkpost is located 30 km from here and 20 km from Lahore city in Pakistan.

The gates of the post are kept open during daytime to allow passage of people and goods with visas and permission.

Troopers of both sides hold an impressive Retreat ceremony at sunset every evening which is watched by thousands of people from both countries as also tourists.
