Lucknow, June 15 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati Wednesday said she was not opposed to a CBI probe into the death of a girl whose body was found hanging in a police compound, but feared the case "may be botched up" by the central agency.

 
 "We don't oppose the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) investigating the case as such but the government fears the case may be botched up...," Mayawati told reporters here.
 
 The chief minister also asked the opposition not to politicise the murder of the teenaged girl.
 
 Mayawati has been under attack from opposition parties for the death of the 14-year-old girl whose body was found hanging from a tree inside the Nighasan police station of Lakhimpur district June 10.
