New Delhi, Sep 7 (IANS) Home Minister P. Chidambaram Wednesday said that detailed forensic examination reports on the Delhi High Court blast were likely to be available Thursday and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) looking into the case had formed a core team of 20 and a support team of 17 officers to assist the investigation.


In a statement, Chidambaram said Delhi Police was working with the NIA in carrying out key tasks assigned to them.

He said experts in bomb blasts, who have been called from the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) Gujarat, were closely examining the scene of the blast and would come up with critical evidence regarding the nature of the blast soon.

He said according to information received from Delhi Police, 11 people had been killed in the blast while 74 had been injured.

He said four of the injured were critical. He added that that two of critically injured were being treated at AIIMS and two others at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

“Doctors are making every effort to save their lives,” he said.

The minister said 55 people were being treated at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. The injured being treated at other hospitals include AIIMS (2), Moolchand Hospital (3), Safdarjung Hospital (4), LNJP Hospital (1), Apollo Hospital (3), Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (5), RR Hospital (Army) (1).

He said 17 people had been discharged after first aid from Delhi High Court dispensary.
