Srinagar, July 30 (IANS) A separatist guerilla was killed in a gunfight with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district Saturday, police said.

Security forces surrounded a house in Rationpora village in north Kashmir after specific information about the presence of a guerrilla inside.

"The militant was asked to surrender but he started firing, triggering an encounter," a police officer said. The militant's identity is being established.
