Medical students attempt suicide over low marks
Kanpur, Sep 3 (IANS) Depressed over their poor performance in exams, three MBBS students of a government medical college here attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills, police said Saturday. Their condition is said to be serious.
Shobit Verma, Vivek Tandon and Sanjeev Kumar -- all second year students of G.S.V.M medical college -- attempted suicide late Friday, and are now admitted to a hospital.
?The three were depressed over not being able to clear some examination," police inspector Amrit Lal said. A suicide note was recovered from the room of one of the three students.
Meanwhile, the incident triggered protests by some students against the college authorities.
