Chennai, July 7 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalaithaa Thursday termed the resignation of DMK member Dayanidhi Maran's resignation from the union cabinet as "long pending".

 
 "This was long pending. He must have resigned long ago or the prime minister must have made him resign long ago," Jayalalithaa told reporters in Chennai.
 
 Maran quit Thursday for his alleged involvement in the 2G spectrum scam.
 
 Jayalalithaa added that the "end of the DMK has already been decided by the people".
